Loch Maree...............................................Brodie Castle....................................................Crail Harbour
Orkney, Skye, Speyside, Mull of Kintyre, and whisky. It means a ferry crossing but Orkney is magic with its ancient Standing Stones, Brochs, Burial chambers, earthhouses and perhaps best of all, Skara Brae where you see houses which are 5000 years old. Skye can be reached by one of two ferries or by bridge. Playing golf at Macrihanish is a great experience after quite a long drive down the Mull of Kintyre. You can tour a whisky distillery in many places in Scotland - Glen Turret near Crieff, Macallan or Glenfarclas or Glenlivet in Speyside, Glenmorangie at Tain, Highland Park in Kirkwall in Orkney, Talisker on Skye. Sample the malt whisky where it is made using the right water.
The Castles of Scotland. Blair Castle, ancestral home of the Duke of Atholl who has the right to have a private army, Scone Palace, the ancient coronation place of the monarchs of Scotland and home to the Earl of Mansfield, Cawdor Castle, ancestral and current home of the Thane of Cawdor, Balmoral Castle, the Queen's holiday home in Royal Deeside, Inveraray Castle, home of the Duke of Argyll (head of the Campbell Clan), Dunvegan Castle on Skye - home of the Chief of the Clan Macleod.
