	Stirling Castle : Fought over by William Wallace (Braveheart) in 1297 and by the Robert the Bruce battle in 1314. Visit the Great Hall and sit in the King's and Queen's seats under the regal Coat of Arms. See the nearby Wallace Monument overlooking the River Forth.		Pictish carved Stone : At Fowlis Wester, and Highland Sheiling or summer grazing place at Loch Tummel in Perthshire.
	St Andrews Castle : Perched beside the sea, this castle has a mine and counter mine. Kids love clambering down the countermine. Nearby is the remains of St Andrews cathedral - you can drive through the cloisters!!	Romans in Scotland	Falkirk Roman Wall and Edinburgh Roman Fort : A turf wall and ditch made by the Romans to help keep the natives at bay. A Naval base at Cramond near Edinburgh established by the Romans in AD142.
	Edinburgh Castle : Site of the internationally famous Military Tattoo held in August. Fascinating to visit to see the Great Hall, Honours of Scotland and the Stone of Scone. See and Hear the One o'clock gun!		Viking: The Vikings visited all parts of the seaboard of Scotland and left their names and places mainly in Caithness, Sutherland, Orkney and Shetland

	Floors Castle : The ancestral home of the Duke of Roxburgh, beautifully furnished and still the Duke's home.		Eilean Donan : Scotland's most romantic castle perched on rocks at the opening of Loch Shiel.
	Blair Castle : The ancestral home of the Duke of Atholl set in beautiful Perthshire countryside.		Melrose Abbey : The first Cistercian abbey in Scotland, founded in 1136 by King David I. The heart of Robert the Bruce is buried here
	Mary Queen of Scots : Birthplace at Linlithgow Palace and her favouritre Hunting Lodge at Falkland Palace.		Soutra Aisle : A mediaeval hospital from the 12th to the 17th century, midway between Edinburgh and the magnificent Border abbeys. Recent research on the blood in the ground. has identified diseases prevalent at that time.
	Rosslyn Chapel : This amazing chapel with its intricate stone carvings was founded in 1446 by Sir William St Clair, third and last St Clair Prince of Orkney and is famous for its associations with the Knights Templar and the Da Vinci Code.		Scone Palace : The ancestral home of the Earl of Mansfield and hereditary coronation place of the Scottish Kings.
