Scenic Tours
Scottish mountains, Scotland's lochs and hills, Scottish Highlands and Lowlands, Scottish palaces, abbeys, castles by the hundred, Islands of Orkney, Shetland, Mull, Skye and the Outer Hebrides - lots and lots of them!
Scotland is a small but immensely varied country with an ancient history. with nowhere more than 40 miles from the sea the sky is always interesting and changing.
We combine scenic tours with visits to castles, palaces and whisky distilleries and with cruises on Loch Lomond or on Loch Ness. You can still take a boat over the sea to Skye although most go by bridge.
You can stay in hotels or Guest Houses or private houses. There are several castles scattered through Scotland now used as hotels so staying in a castle is an option.
Some like the more rugged mountains in North West Scotland, others the softer river valleys but most enjoy the rolling moorland as part of the sheer variety we have here. It is not possible to drive through the same kind of scenery for more than one hour unless you go round in circles. Leave Edinburgh in the soft Central Lowlands, one hour later you pass Stirling and go through the Highland Fault. You drive past the Perthshire Hills and lochs and then out on to Rannoch Moor. Pass Buchaille Etive Mhor (translated from Gaelic as "The big herdsman or shepherd"), a mountain guarding Glencoe and enter the glen of the massacre of Macdonalds by Campbells. Through there to Ballachulish and Loch Leven - a Scottish sea loch (like a fiord). Then pass Fort William to enter the Great Glen and warch boats traversing the Caledonian Canal and entering Loch Ness. Finish up in Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. Driving time for all of that ? - 4 hours in a car.
So a lot can be seen in a fairly short time but it is not possible to drive from Edinburgh or Glasgow to Skye to Inverness to Orkney to Royal Deeside and st. Andrews in the one day - for that you need a helicopter (which we can arrange at high cost).

We will recommend itineraries to suit the time you have available and the way you are travelling. If hiring a car, we will always endeavour to have satellite navigation available although away from the Cetral belt, routes are not that difficult mainly because the roads have to go round the hills. We can arrange a driver/courier who will talk you through Scotland. Throw in some golf clubs and some can have a game whilst others see the sights.
Some examples :-

Stirling Castle- Perthshire Lochs and Hills - St. Andrews - Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.
The ancestral homes of the Duke of Atholl at Blair Castle or the Earl of Mansfield at Scone Palace near Perth.
Roslyn Chapel and Soutra Aisle a medieval hospital, Sir Walter Scott's house at Abbotsford, the ancient Melrose Abbey, the Duke of Roxburgh's Floors Castle , or Traquair House and Gardens.
Add a day or two, takes you away into the Scottish Highlands or Royal Deeside, the Isle of Skye or the Orkney Isles
